Junior Strous of The Netherlands has signed with ASR Motorsports for the 2009 Indy Lights season. The 22-year-old driver is no stranger to North American motorsports as he has spent the last two years in the Atlantic Championship; driving for Condor Motorsports. He claimed his first series win at Mont Tremblant in June, 2008, after qualifying on pole. He finished fifth in the overall points championship in 2008, but was challenging for the title throughout the season.
He finished inside the top ten in 82% of his starts and made improvments on his starting position in 64% of his races last season. It will be interesting to see how he adapts to the Indy Lights car.
