Alistair Jackson committed to running the 2009 Firestone Indy Lights Championship aboard a Guthrie Meyer entry. The 20-year-old driver completed a test with the team in November on both a road course and the Homestead-Miami oval, earning his rookie license.
Jackson has been racing in Europe and Asia over the last few seasons. He completed 16 races in the British F3-International Class in 2008, finishing inside the top-ten on three occasions. He improved his starting position in 44% of his race completions for 2008. In 2006, he made history by becoming the youngest winner in the Formula 3-Asia series, driving for Aran Racing. He finished third in the overall championship.
It will be interesting to see how he does in 2009 under the guidance of Jim Guthrie and Louis (Butch) Meyer III.
