Liam Kenney had the opportunity to test a Star Mazda car recently with Kester Racing. The family-run team based out of Texas, fielded J.C. and Kristy Kester this season, the two are brother and sister. Kenney is only sixteen years old, but has already spent a few years running Formula Renault cars in both the 1600 and 2000 series here in the United States. During that time he won four races and stood on the podium 24 times.
He spent last season in the VW Jetta TDI Cup running alongside the likes of David Jurca, Josh Hurley, and Mark Pombo. Kenney finished second overall in the championship with two wins and four podiums. It will be interesting to see what his next move is. I know there is some talk of racing in Europe for 2009.
