Conor Daly Signs with Andersen Racing

Conor Daly has signed with Andersen Racing to contest the 2009 Star Mazda Championship. The 17-year-old, who by the way just had his golden birthday December 17th, tested with several different Star Mazda teams prior to making his commitment for 2009. The signing comes after Daly was awarded a $350,000 scholarship from the MAZDASPEED Development program. The cash-award was given to Daly after successfully winning the 2008 Skip Barber National Championship.

The Noblesville, Indiana native has had an extremely busy schedule in 2008.... running 28 races in a variety of series and countries. Of those 28 events, he won 11 of them, finished on the podium 20 times, claimed 9 pole positions, and set the fastest lap of the race 10 times. Just to put things into perspective, he finished on the podium in 71.43% of his races.

With his tremendous amount of success in 2008, Daly has had quite a bit of press here on Junior Open Wheel Talent. Click here to see a review of his recent endeavors and accomplishments.
