Genoa Racing recently tested Henri Karjalainen in their Atlantic car at Sebring International Raceway. Karjalainen spent 2008 in the Atlantic Championship driving for Jensen Motorsport, where he failed to have much success averaging a finish of 14th. The 22-year-old Finnish driver was able to find the top ten at Trois-Rivieres, finishing 10th after starting 15th. Despite limited success in 2008, Henri did manage to improve his race position in 70% of his starts.
Perhaps a team change is just what the Finnish driver needs. Karjalainen has shown his speed in his past endeavors, most notably with his performance in the 2007 Formula 3 Asia/Pacific series where he finished runner-up, claiming 5 wins and 10 podiums driving for Team Goddard. Should Henri return to the Atlantic Championship for 2009, watch for steady improvement throughout the year.
