Star Mazda veteran, Alex Ardoin has signed with JDC Motorsports for the 2009 Star Mazda Championship. Ardoin will be returning to the series for his third season, after spending the last two years with Mundill Racing.
Ardoin had some typical ups and downs last season, but in the long-run he exemplified his speed by finishing inside the top-ten in 83.3% of his Star Mazda events. He claimed one pole position and stood on the podium four times in 2008.
The move to JDC Motorsports in 2009 will most likely be the key to even more success. Watch for the 19-year-old Louisiana resident to be a title contender in 2009. If he has aspirations of furthering his career in the open wheel ranks, this will have to be his year to truly shine in Star Mazda. He has spent the last five seasons running a Formula Mazda/Star Mazda race car and he will likely move on next season. John Church and his crew at JDC will be an excellent asset to Ardoin's 2009 efforts.
