Alexander Sims, who recently won the McLaren Autosport BRDC Award, has signed with Mucke Motorsport to contest the 2009 F3 Euro Series alongside Marco Wittmann.
Sims has created a name for himself in the karting ranks here in North America by winning the prestigious Stars of Karting Race of Americas in 2006; driving a PSL/CRG/Maxter entry in the ICA class. Sims drove to an impressive 5.673 second victory over Canada's Lorenzo Mandarino on a wet Oklahoma track.
The 20-year-old British driver finished 2nd overall in the 2008 Formula Renault 2.0 UK championship, claiming 2 wins and 12 podiums driving for Manor Competition. Sims clearly has talent and will likely be a championship contender during his F3 Euro Series campaign in 2009.
