I have confirmation from NWR team manager, Brian Halahan that John Michael Edwards has signed with Newman Wachs Racing to contest the 2009 Atlantic Championship. Edwards spent the early part of this week testing with the team at Sebring International Raceway. The signing comes shortly after NWR announced that engineer Nick Harvey (2008 Atlantic Engineer of the Year) will join the team for 2009. Edwards and Harvey have worked together in the past and the duo should make an extremely potent combo in the championship hunt next season.
Edwards ride with Newman Wachs comes courtesy of the MAZDASPEED Development Ladder, after the 17-year-old Cincinnati resident won the 2008 Star Mazda Championship.
