Arie Luyendyk Jr. on Goodwill Tour

Firestone Indy Lights driver Arie Luyendyk Jr. will be heading to Iraq as part of the 2008 Racing Heroes Goodwill tour alongside NASCAR drivers Geoffrey Bodine and Scott Wimmer.

Luyendyk Jr., who won the Indy Lights series finale at Chicagoland Speedway, is looking forward to the opportunity. The drivers will hold autograph/photo sessions and visit U.S. troops in military bases and hospitals in both Kuwait and Iraq. The tour runs from December 9th-20th.

The 27 year old has yet to announce his plans for 2009, but one would assume to see him back in an open wheel car after a successful 2008 Indy Lights season with Andretti Green/AFS Racing. In addition to winning the series finale, he also claimed 5 podiums during the course of the year. Next up for Luyendyk is the SKUSA Supernationals in Las Vegas where he will be driving a 125cc shifter kart.
