Fabio Leimer to Indy Lights?

International Formula Master driver, Michael Ammermüller declined the Formula Master Rookie prize, comprised of a test with Sam Schmidt Motorsports in an Indy Lights car. Apparently Ammermüller declined the test for personal reasons.

Fabio Leimer couldn't be happier with Ammermüller's decision. The Swiss Formula Master driver inherited the top rookie prize and will test a Indy Lights car alongside World Series by Renault driver Marco Bonanomi on Monday October 27-29. The two drivers will be driving for Sam Schmidt Motorsports at Putnam Park. Assuming things go well, both drivers will attempt to pass their rookie tests at Kentucky Speedway later this year.

Leimer had his most successful year in full size cars to date this year in the International Formula Master series after making the transition from karts in 2006. The 19 year old has driven for Jenzer Motorsport the last two seasons in both Formula Master and Formula Renault 2.0
