Former Indy Car/GP2 driver Franck Perera has signed on to run the remaining Indy Lights races with Guthrie Racing. Perera is part of a growing trend of drivers taking a slight step backwards due to funding issues. The 23 year old driver started out what looked to be a promising season in the Indy Car series with Conquest Racing until sponsor Opes Prime went bankrupt. Since that time, Jaime Camara (former IPS driver) took his seat with Conquest.
The frenchman will join Micky Gilbert, Logan Gomez and Sean Guthrie under the Guthrie Racing tent for the remaining events in 2008. Look for the former Toyota F1 test driver to make his first appearance in Iowa at the Jeld-Wen 100, June 21st.
