Alexander Rossi has won 50% of this season's Formula BMW-Americas race events thus far in 2008. The young California driver made his mark this weekend at Mid Ohio setting a new all time record for the largest victory margin, winning Round 5 by over 14 seconds. Ricardo Favoretto crossed the stripe in second place both days, but Rossi managed to post the quickest time in every session over the weekend. It seems the Nevada City, California resident has finally hit his stride winning the last three events.
In other FBMW-Americas news, the series has just announced that they will add an additional 3 events to the 2008 calendar. A bold move considering the already low driver attendance. The 2008 schedule will now feature 17 races. I will say this, it was a smart move to schedule the additional events by adding a day to previously scheduled stops (minimizing travel expenses).
