Josef Newgarden won two of three races last weekend in his Formula Palmer Audi debut at Brands Hatch. He was running at the front of the pack in his third race of the weekend, only to having a small off-track excursion that put him back to fourth in the final tally. Last week, I wrote that running this race was a solid decision for Newgarden--who was looking to showcase his skills in front of the A1 paddock-- it looks like he did his job. Nice run.
It remains to be seen if Newgarden will return to the Formula Palmer Audi series or maintain his focus on his British Formula Ford campaign. He is currently leading the Formula Palmer Audi championship; heading into Race 4. Should he return to the series and win the title, he will be awarded £50,000 to be used towards a F2 seat in 2010.
