Rossi Wins World Final

Alexander Rossi crossed the stripe in 1st place Sunday at the Formula BMW World Final in Mexico City, Mexico driving for EuroInternational. Rossi, who is 17-years-old, was the sole American in the field. The event was held at the Autódromo Hermanos Rodríguez.

After a nearly perfect year in Formula BMW-Americas; Rossi capped off his season by finishing 0.655 seconds ahead of Michael Christiensen (Josef Kaufmann Racing) and 2.443 seconds ahead of Mexican standout Esteban Gutierrez (Josef Kaufmann Racing). Rossi set the fast lap of the race at 1:35.586.

Alexander Rossi completed his Formula BMW season with 11 wins, 10 pole positions, and 10 fast laps. Rossi made Formula BMW history by becoming the first American to win a FBMW Championship earlier this year and just to add another feather to his cap; he went ahead and became the first American to win the World Final. Watch for big news from the Rossi camp in the coming months...

Just to cap things off here, I'd like to point out that Alexander Rossi managed to stand atop my "Top Prospects List".
