Indy Lights drivers Mitch Cunningham and Christina Orr will be returning to New Zealand's Toyota Racing Series(TRS) for 2008-2009. The two drivers, who used the TRS as a development step last year, will return this season for the opening round at Ruapuna Park.
Mitch Cunningham, who is the younger brother of Indy Lights former champion Wade Cunningham, has made eight career starts in the Indy Lights series. He led two laps and set the fastest time at Mid Ohio in the rain last July.
Christina Orr only ran four Indy Lights events this year, managing a best finish of 16th. The 21-year-old, who hails from New Zealand, has spent the last two seasons running with the TRS. She has managed one podium in 44 starts, driving for Mark Petch Motorsport.
Neither driver has announced a commitment for the 2009 racing season following the 2008-2009 Toyota Racing Series.
