Star Mazda competitors spent the week in Georgia, racing at the famed Road Atlanta circuit. John Edwards managed to take his fourth win of the season driving for AIM Autosport after championship leader Peter Dempsey dropped off the charts due to contact while running near the front of the pack. Dempsey had won four out of the last five events, so the DNF truly hurt his chances at the title in 2008. He was later demoted five more spots due to "avoidable contact"...sending him to 19th in the final tally. American Joel Miller took the second spot driving for JDC Motorsports, he trailed Edwards by 5.150 seconds. Brazilian driver Rick Rosin obtained his first career Star Mazda podium, claiming the third and final spot driving for Mundill Racing. Rosin has only six starts this season.
