British driver Richard Kent will make his first ever Star Mazda start this weekend at Mosport International Raceway driving for Anderson Racing. Kent spent several years in direct drive karts prior to making the jump to open wheel cars. The 19 year old has split his racing efforts with his education, seeing limited success since making the transition to cars. Kent has raced in the Formula Renault 2000 UK Winter series, Formula Palmer Audi series, and the Formula Renault 2.0 UK series.
Watch for the Olney, England resident to come up to speed throughout the weekend as he adjusts to the Star Mazda car. Kent is one of many European drivers to make the trip to North America this season in pursuit of better racing opportunities for the money. With the U.S. dollar = 0.68 Euros at this time, the trip seems to be a smart move.
