Jonathans Leave Edmonton Victorious

After five events, the Atlantic Championship has seen five different victors. This weekend, the secret to winning seemed to be the name Jonathan.

American drivers Jonathan Bomarito and Jonathan Summerton left Edmonton with race wins.

Jonathon Bomarito took the win in Race 4 driving for Mathiasen Motorsports. It was Bomarito's first win of the season, but his third career Atlantic victory. It was also the first Atlantic win for Mathiasen Motorsports in 36 starts. Bomarito's best finish this season prior to Race # 4 was 5th place in the season opener. He has been very consistent this year by finishing inside the top ten in all but one race, which was due to a mechanical failure. He will head back home to Monterey, Californnia sitting fourth overall in the championship.

Jonathan Summerton, a JOWT Top Prospect, became the first rookie driver to win in the 2008 championship. The young American A1GP driver took his first career Atlantic win driving for Newman Wachs Racing. After spending a few years racing in Europe, Summerton has come home ready for the next step. Summerton will head to the next event (Road America) sitting 3rd in the 2008 Championship, a mere two points ahead of Jonathan Bomarito.
