Junior Open Wheel Talent

Forsythe Racing team owner; Jerry Forsythe announced this week that he plans to field cars in the Indy Lights series in 2009. Team Forsythe has been a powerhouse in the Champ Car World Series and the Atlantic Championship since the early 80's. They were also involved with the Indy Lights series previously, in fact the team claimed back to back championship titles in the 90's with Greg Moore and David Empringham behind the wheel.

This announcement has many wondering if it's the beginning of the end for the Atlantic Championship. Forsythe claims that he will field cars in both series and just expand their open wheel program. Personally, I think the Atlantic Championship with be just fine now that they have been sanctioned by the IMSA and aligned with the ALMS schedule. Either way, it will be nice to see Jerry Forsythe expand his program to field cars in two junior formula series.
