Andreas Wirth Ends Season Early
Another junior formula driver ends his season early as Andreas Wirth steps down from his Atlantic Championship seat due to a lack of funding. This is a far too common occurrence for today's open wheel drivers. Less than a month ago, American driver, Charlie Kimball ended his F3 Euro Series season with a similar problem. The weakened economy is playing a huge part in sponsorship problems at all levels of racing. We can only hope that the current status of the world's economy will be short lived and these driver's will be back at the racetrack soon.
